Daniel Jensen (1972) lives and works in Stockholm. Jensen’s practice spans painting, sculpture and drawing and explores questions about our contemporary, popular culture, film, literature and a nature in decline. His works are filled with abstract and figurative elements that do not have mutual relation in a logical narrative sense.
A patchwork of references and techniques along with myths gives life to a series of characters and a personal universe. This universe has the semblance of a depraved fairytale where humour and deep sincerity are entwined and unconstrained, placing the spectator in an odd state of laughter and contemplation.
Jensens work is represented in numerous private and public collections including: Malmö Art Museum, Sweden; The National Public Art Council of Sweden; Stockholm Municipality, Sweden; Investor AB, Sweden; Akzo Nobel Art Foundation, Amsterdam; Steve Shane Collection, New York & Gothenburg Art Council, Sweden.
