Trine Boesen (1972) lives and works in Copenhagen. Her works address issues of space and scale by directly confronting our perception of order through a kaleidoscope of signs, symbols and everyday elements.
Her recent gallery exhibition Measuring Space consisted of a series of round canvases, all subtitled “Grey Scale” and a series of square canvases all subtitled "Wanderlust - Other Spaces”. Coherent for both series is the aspect of ratio or scale emerging from a hybrid urban culture, where, for a split second, the fundamental differences between form and matter seem suspended in a time gap. Boesen´s conscious overlapping of visual material in a non hierarchical and intuitive order, are key perspective´s in her artistic practice and thinking.
Trine Boesen is educated at the The Royal Danish Art Academy between 1997 - 2002. She has exhibited widely and is represented in numerous national and international collections including:
AROS - Aarhus Denmark, New Carlsberg Foundation, Vejle Art Museum, The Nykredit Collection and The Albert Knox Foundation, New York.
Present solo exhibitions include "Last Resort" Museum Trapholt - Denmark, 28 August 2014 - 6 April 2015.
