We are pleased to announce our participation in Art Antwerp with a dialogue presentation of David Noro (painting) & Jesper Dalgaard (sculpture) Both practices are process related, where archetypes and inherited traits of human beings lurer and are commented on. Central for Noro is that there is no preferred subject field. Works are created with a momentary and relational mindset, where motifs arise and are constantly matured. His works unfurl prosaic stories where villains, heroes, and simple characters freely perform in narrations that appear, equally banal and intellectually complex. Dalgaard´s entire output can be seen as the unified and coherent orchestration of both amusing and slightly menacing, utopian as well as dystopian ideas. His works can be intricate and multilayered, futuristic and primitive. A distinct strand of social criticism runs through this universe, targeting the degradation of the environment, and capitalism’s homogenization of both individuals and the wider world, while at the same time giving form to our desire to start afresh and realize our unfulfilled dreams.
