Ea Vasko´s lives and works in Helsinki. Her abstract photography is concerned with culturally determined ways of seeing and perceiving. In her recent research Vasko views space as a substance or experimental matter and in turn poses questions like…is a photograph actually able to imitate a spatial experience and can one forget the documentary value of a photographed image and therefore stop reading its references to reality? The discourse concerning the boundaries for understanding the imagined contra the real is the principal concept behind this exhibition titled Ma.
