“Measuring Space” presents a new series of works in which Boesen addresses issues of space and scale by directly confronting our perception of order through a kaleidoscope of signs, symbols and everyday elements.
The exhibition consists of a series of round canvases, all subtitled “Grey Scale” and a series of square canvases all subtitled "Wanderlust - Other Spaces”. Coherent for both series is the aspect of ratio or scale emerging from a hybrid urban culture, where, for a split second, the fundamental differences between form and matter seem suspended in a time gap. Therefore “Measuring Space” can be seen as an interpretation of the complexities of modern culture, where Boesen negotiates the absurdities of mapping territories, its consequences and impossibilities.
