"Medium Rare" has the artistic process as the center of focus; observing and sourcing what can be said to lie between the starting point and the final work.
Common for the artists curated in the exhibition is that traces from choices made during the artistic process still are remnant in the work and in some cases to such an extent, that the original intention is replaced by what arises in transit.
This discourse proclaims that the idea for a work can be retained in the idea of the starting point, rather than in the final result of the work. The process is the voyage, underlining the artists´ will to let the original ideas be diverted in the pursuit of new spoor. It is this specific approach in practice, which connects the participating artists rather than their individual visual expressions.
