LARS WORM: SOLO

23 May - 28 June 2014

Lars Worm (1977) lives and works in Copenhagen.

Visual ordering and poetic structure are key principles behind Worm´s practice which spans painting, sculpture and installation. His works differ in technique yet converge by utilising tension between material and aesthetics within the idiom of primitive minimalism.

By employing ideas of simplicity as a theme and method, Worm strives universal and utopian ideas of pureness. His explorations often result in works with spiritual undertones, but his practice can not be held ransom by religious doctrines, specific ideology or belief. In choosing a simplified yet poetic approach to structure and movement Worm uses geometrical symbols, simpel adjustments to the canvas and found materials to refine the understated. By inspiring the given medium he applies it with a surplus of meaning which is strong enough to avoid the one-dimensional and self-evident.

Lars Worm graduated from the Funen Academy of Fine Arts, Denmark in 2009. He is represented in important privat and public collections including; The Danish Art Foundation, Copenhagen City Collection.
