KASPAR BONNÉN: PAINTING(S) WITH MY EYES CLOSED

13 September - 12 October 2024

We welcome you to "Painting(s) With My Eyes Closed," a solo exhibition by Kaspar Bonnén.

This exhibition will be extended to both our spaces so we can present several large-scale works.
Kaspar Bonnén (1968), a resident of Copenhagen, is an artist whose practice spans various disciplines, including painting, sculpture, installation, land art, and literature.

At the heart of the exhibition is the artist's personal and fragmentary universe, a focal point for reflecting on our losses. Bonnén's feelings, memories, thoughts, and repressions form a field of study where paintings, texts, space studies, sculptures, and lost stories converge.

Kaspar Bonnén has been honoured with numerous prestigious grants and prizes, including the Eckersberg-Medaillen, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and The New Carlsberg Foundations Artist Prize. His public commissions, including those for the City Court of Copenhagen, Amalienborg, the Danish Supreme Court, and the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs, further underscore his impressive achievements.

Bonnéns's work is appreciated nationally and internationally. He is represented in museums and private collections across Europe, including The National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark; Aarhus Kunstmuseum (ARoS), Aarhus, Denmark; Arken Museum of Modern Art, Denmark; Essl Museum, Klosterneuburg, Austria; and Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden.
